So...If you are a yogi who is committed to Ayurveda then you know that crisp rice is vata aggravating.... Therefore vicariously rice crispy treats are too :(
I KNOW! It's aggravating!! (My vata)
So I been dreaming up an Ayurvedic friendly version... Granted it would be even better if I made it into a warm rice pudding dish... I'll try that next!
I wanted the recipe to have some of the crunchy chewy texture that rice crispy treats have so here is what I came up with!
~*~CocoChia Crispy Treats~*~
1/2cup each chia seeds, milk (I used almond but what ev u like), dash Of vanilla, sliced almonds, sesame seeds. coconut flakes, coconut oil or coconut mana or a combo of the two, hemp seeds and maple syrup or soaked dates and 2 packets/teaspoons stevia)
So first you soak the chia seeds in the milk with the vanilla and stevia. This is the marshmallow base, then you mix all the dry ingredients (hemp seeds, almonds, coconut flakes, sesame seeds). Then mix either the half cup of blended dates or the maple syrup or honey whatever you got in with the chia marshmallow blend. Then mix wet and dry ingredients together and press into a coconut oiled pan. Refrigerate till it is setup! And enjoy!
My son loved them and so did my dad! Both of which are not the easiest to please when it comes to the healthy stuff!
Let me know how it worked for you and if you have any variations.
Peace, Love and light!
3 ingredients only!
Ok First off the disclaimer!!!!
If you are healthier and more evolved than me substitute carob powder or perhaps cut your cocoa with carob.
Ps...thanks for trailblazing, I'm right behind you... Well a little ways behind...ya don't look, I'm around that corner...where the chocolate is ;)
~*~Coconut oil freezer fudge~*~
1/2 cup each coconut oil, cocoa and soaked blended dates.
Ok so the longer you soak the dates the creamier this will be.
Put it all in the blender/processor using the date soak water just enough to get it to blend.
Transfer to freezer safe dish and put in the freezer for a few hours.
I then stack functions and use the chocolate blender to make hot cocoa... Just add whatever kind of milk you want to "dirty" blender and blend up. Yum!
Peace, love and light!
This is my outline for a talk I'm giving at my Unitarian Universalist Church tomorrow... So forgive the flow it's meant for interaction!
I'm so glad to share with any and All and if you have any questions about permaculture, I will do my best to help you for...of course for free. It's my karma yoga, my service work, my activism is my rent for living on the planet!
With much love!
It's raining buckets and so chilly here. Kids are at their dads and I'm flying solo and studying...spending time in my head all day today! So I wanted something warm and comforting. Found a recipe then tweaked it to make it higher in protein and more warming. Came up with this yummy warming, fire energy, single serve apple crisp.

1/4 tsp each ground cinnamon, ginger and cardamom.
Dash o vanilla
pinch Kosher salt
1/2 Tbsp oil or ghee
Mix apples with cornstarch, dash of cinnamon and vanilla
In another bowl mix flour, oats, sweetner, spices. Then add your fat/oil and mix with fingers till crumbly.
Grease your small baking dish put the apples in and then the topping.
Bake 10-20 mins. Till brown and crispy. I'm gonna have yogurt on mine. Yummy dinner!
I'm calling it Arues apple crisp in honor of the current energy of Aries that we are being bathed in from the cosmos. Aries is a fire sign, so I upped the spices quite a bit! I am really kicking some homework butt in true Aries passionate fiery determined action. And finnally spending a ton of time in my head today which is the part of the body ruled by Aries.
Don't worry I promise to mellow out and do my meditation (also perfect for Aries) before 9 and be in bed by 10 like a good little yogi.
I still have 2 hours to kick homework butt so I gotta go! Hope you enjoy this recipe as much as I do!
And thanks to Yogastrology® for teaching me so much about the effects of the constellations on our loves and the ways we can love in fuller awareness and balance
