Ok I know I been out for a whIle and tons of life have been keeping me away from this blog. I have many ideas rolling in my mind as to blog topics... But out of all these this recipe has given me the most problems and therefore the most inspiration to write. Suffering leads to creativity... So anyway I saw this recipe on Facebook and have been obssesed with making it! I've dreamnt of it all week and even managed to procur a pie pumpkin at farmers market on Saturday. I assembled the ingredients tonight with feelings of gratitude and wealth! I love when I'm rich enough to follow a recipe :-) Well I could have followed the recipe but of course I didn't...cause I don't ;) So anyho I started by following the recipe and tackling the tough skin of the squash and the heroic attempt at "grating 2 cups of pumpkin" I continued to "follow" the recipe except I substituted fuyu persimmons for bananas. They Lied! It was yucky! My kids wouldn't touch it, I could barely get it down. So I began to add more honey, dates, hemp seeds, ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, then I thought of the Blue Lotus Chai Roobios, I added three servings of that. I eventually got it to where I liked it but had to continue to add caramel syrup to get the kids to drink it. I'm still having to give the evil eye as we speak and sweetly coherce the kids to sit down and finish it! So if you do get so brave as to try a pumpkin pie smoothie...don't bother with the hassle of raw, get a can of organic pumpkin purée and prepare to alter a lot! May the atumnal force be with with you and your seasonal smoothie endeavors. I admit it wasn't with me this time ;) Namaste
